Deshawna ‘Dee’ Maxey remembered during funeral service at First Christian Church

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Community members and leaders gathered to remember and honor the life of Dashawna “Dee” Maxey because of the limitless love she gave freely.

Deshawna, also known as Dee to her friends, impacted the lives of many, just by being her authentic self.

Kyle Mcdougall, the associate minister at First Christian Church tells us how involved Dee was. She says, “Dee had a hand in everything. Like there was really nothing she wasn’t involved in if she heard about something, she was there to be a part of it.”

Kyle also shares that Dee was a prominent pillar within the community, and how she would go out of her way to be there for anyone and everyone who needed help. Kyles says, “She would walk, she would ride the bus. She would do whatever she had to do to get somewhere to help somebody. She didn’t want anybody to go through any challenges alone. So if you would have met her, then you would know that you would be well cared for and well-loved.”

Dee was on a mission to help others. Although she is gone her mission and her love lives on through the lives of those she has touched.
