Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Atkins, visits Bowling Green

One of two men vying to be the democratic nominee for governor in Kentucky made a stop in Bowling Green Tuesday afternoon.

State House Representative, Rocky Adkins, held a meet and greet at Steamer Seafood.

He was joined by his running-mate, Stephanie Horn, who is a school board member in Jefferson County.

The two discussed a number of issues, including, education, clean energy and the opioid crisis.

Adkins announced his candidacy last week. He and Kentucky Attorney General, Andy Beshear, are the first two democrats to announce their intentions to be the next governor of Kentucky.

Adkins did not mince words when we asked him about the current Governor, Matt Bevin.

"The disrespect, the name calling, the radical agendas and thing he has had to say over the time he has been in office, in my opinion, have been wrong for Kentucky," said Adkins. "That’s the reason people are saying it’s time to bring back respect for the Governor’s office."
