Deadly truck blast rattles Arkansas community

(KARK/NBC News) A truck driver is dead after his cargo of ammonium nitrate exploded near Camden, Arkansas.

A giant crater in the ground shows the spot where the truck crashed Wednesday morning.

Ouachita County Judge Robert McAdoo says the truck’s back breaks were on fire before the explosion.

“We have had reports as far as 75 miles away that they heard felt a little bit of the boom and heard it,” McAdoo said.

The blast completely destroyed the truck and damaged several nearby homes.
