Dance Big Red raises money for pediatric heart care

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- On Friday night, the 7th annual Dance Big Red event will be taking place virtually to raise money for Norton’s Children’s Hospital.

The four-hour finale event that Western Kentucky University students have been fundraising for is finally here, kicking off at 6 p.m. Friday.

The event will include guest speakers, testimonials, games, and of course, tons of dancing. At the end of the event, they will also do the big reveal, announcing how much money they raised.

This year the event is specifically benefiting pediatric heart care at Norton Children’s Hospital. Participants will also hear directly from the families and children that they are helping.

“It’s just such a wonderful experience, it’s a way to give back to our community, it’s a way to do something bigger than yourself while you’re in college,” said co-chair Briley Barks.

Since it began, Dance Big Red has raised nearly $300,000 for pediatric cardiovascular services and adolescent cancer care at Norton.
