Cumberland County man faces sexual abuse charges following investigation

BURKESVILLE, Ky. – A Cumberland County man is facing sexual abuse and drug charges following an investigation.
The Kentucky State Police Post 15 says an arrest was made in an ongoing sexual abuse investigation in Cumberland County Tuesday.
According to a release, the investigation began on January 26, when a trooper received a report of sexual abuse.
52-year-old Joseph Chade Bryant, of Burkesville, allegedly sexually abused a juvenile, says KSP.
The release states that an arrest warrant was obtained, charging Bryant with third-degree rape, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal sex act, and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal controlled substance.
KSP arrested Bryant at a home on Eden Lane on February 6.
Troopers say suspected methamphetamine and several firearms, three of which were stolen, were found in the home.
Bryant is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, receiving stolen property – firearm (3 counts), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bryant was lodged at the Adair County Regional Jail.
KSP says Bryant may receive additional charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
