Crossland Community Church works to help local children ahead of Christmas Eve service
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – There’s no shortage of holiday spirit here in south-central Kentucky.
Generosity is just a stone’s throw away in the community.
Crossland Community Church is no different, with their program Christmas Give, an initiative where the congregation sponsors young children for Christmas.
News 40 spoke to the church’s youth pastor, Savannah Smith, who said they had 600 kids on the list this year from Butler, Warren and Barren counties.
Ahead of their Christmas Eve services tonight, they told us it’s all in the spirit of the holiday and the church’s goal.
Smith says, “Our biggest thing here at Crossland is refuge. Hope, all people. And we want to make sure that everybody feels loved, seen and known. Especially this time of year. You know what I mean? Those who are less fortunate don’t get to experience that.”
Smith went on to say that she and her church family encourage everyone to be generous this holiday season and into 2025 and that they hope everyone has a very merry Christmas across south-central Kentucky.
