Crime Stoppers tip leads to 2 arrests in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police arrested two men yesterday as the result of a Crime Stoppers tip.

On Tuesday, Dec. 27, the information led police to a home on Nathans Rim Way in search of Taron Wells. Police say Taron Wells had three outstanding indictments and eight warrants.

BGPD says they then took Tavon Wells into custody just inside the residence. Following a short standoff, police say they also arrested Taron Wells.

Officers found drug paraphernalia with suspected fentanyl residue accessible to a 2-year-old child, as well as 500 counterfeit pills containing suspected fentanyl, over 1 pound of marijuana, money and 35 televisions, according to police.

Tavon Wells, 27, of Bowling Green is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

Taron Wells, 27, of Bowling Green faces multiple charges, including probation violation, trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, trafficking in marijuana, drug paraphernalia possession, second-degree robbery, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to appear, theft by unlawful taking over $500, third-degree criminal mischief and bail jumping.

Both men remain in the Warren County Detention Center.
