Creatives and tech geniuses to unite at Bowling Green Hackathon

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The second annual Hackathon is making its return to Bowling Green, bringing together creativity, innovation and community spirit.

Organized by the nonprofit CREATE, the local chamber of commerce and Western Kentucky University students, the 24-hour event gives high school students a hands-on opportunity to design their own apps and websites. The main goal is to inspire future success in a rapidly growing field.

Kahlil Garmon, CEO and founder of MoneyBot, says he helped bring the event to life after realizing Kentucky lacked spaces for young tech minds to explore their passions.

“There weren’t any hackathons or tech events where I could go push my curiosity and meet other like-minded people,” he shared. “We said, we need to bring that energy to Kentucky—especially to Bowling Green.”

The Hackathon will take place on Oct. 25 at WKU’s Innovation Campus. Students or sponsors interested in getting involved can visit the website for more information.
