COWS test postponed due to upcoming winter storm
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This quarter’s quarterly County Outdoor Warning Sirens test has been postponed.
Travis Puckett, Deputy Director of Warren County Emergency Management, says the COWS test, originally scheduled for Friday at noon, is postponed due to a potential winter storm.
WCEM will conduct COWS testing on Friday, January 17, weather permitting.
Puckett says all sirens undergo silent testing twice daily to ensure their functionality & readiness.
ABOUT COWS
County Outdoor Warning Sirens (COWS) are located in several places within Bowling Green and Warren County. These sirens are activated when a tornado warning is issued for Warren County. The COWS are meant to be an alert for anyone outside, they are not meant to be heard inside of buildings.
