Couple indicted on murder charge stemming from Allen county stabbing in 2017

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.- A man and woman have been indicted on a murder charge more than two years after a man was stabbed to death in Scottsville.

According to documents obtained by WNKY, Melissa Scott, 41 and Donovan Sutton, 21, were taken into custody early Friday morning.

The two are charged with murder-conspiracy in relation to the death of Larry Whitney, 40, on May 16, 2017 at a residence on Bays Bend Road.

Scott is the mother of Whitney’s children. In the days following Whitney’s death, Scott took her children and went on the run. Authorities eventually discovered the two girls unharmed. Scott was charged with custodial interference.

Scott and Sutton are being held inside the Allen County Detention Center.
