Corvette Museum opens ‘Ground to Sky: The Sinkhole Reimagined’ in reflection

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Honoring a decade of progress, a new sinkhole exhibit sheds light on obstacles and recovery from the 2014 incident.
That February, eight Corvettes in the Skydome succumbed to the sinkhole formed beneath them. Several cars were recovered, and the recuperation process began.
The National Corvette Museum’s “Ground to Sky: The Sinkhole Reimagined” exhibit is opened for a limited time. It is available for viewing from June 14 to Sept. 15.
On their visit, guests will view five recovered sinkhole corvettes, personal testimonies from staff, and the journey of restoration of the museum. The American Printing House for the Blind supplied braille labels for all five Corvettes in the “Ground to Sky: The Sinkhole Reimagined.”
“This special exhibit allows us to reflect on the challenges we faced, and the tremendous progress we have achieved since then,” said Kaye Wagner, chair of the National Corvette Museum Board of Directors.
Admission for adults (ages 13-61) is $25. The cost for children under 13 is $14. Guests have the option of museum admission, guided tours, corvette racing simulators and family memberships.
