Connor Jessee: Southern Kentucky Bullrider

EDMONTON Ky. – Connor Jesse is preparing to head to Mesquite, Texas to compete in the World Championship Miniature Bullriding World Finals in October. He has been riding most of his life and is hopeful that he will be successful at the competition.

“When I was younger, you know, I just got on some sheep and stuff and got on some cars around the farm. And then when I was 14, I got the opportunity to get on a bull down in my hometown. So I took it and had my mom sign a couple of waivers and whatnot. And then I just met everybody there. And this started from there.” Jessee said.

This will be the largest event he has competed in, reserved, he is looking forward and hoping for the best.

“It feels good, but it’s just another thing, you know, you just keep on going one at a time. So, uh, it’s just a great opportunity. I guess.”

A Flanker who has worked in the rodeo scene for some time in Metcalfe County, Sharon Yoder thinks that Jessee is a special talent, having seen many riders come and go in her time.

“He was just starting to ride bulls when I first met Conner. And he got a really bad injury that year, so he was out for a few months.
He ended up breaking his leg. Most people, when they do that, they’re done. They have no passion for coming back to it. But Conner did it.” Yoder said.
