Concerned Citizens of Logan County supports families during the holidays
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – For the past eight years, Concerned Citizens of Logan County has created a space for parents to come and get free toys and clothes for their kids.
Dorris Vick, the director of Concerned Citizens of Logan County, says, “We’re living in some hard times. The families they can’t feed. I mean, they’re having trouble with food, and I know it’s hard on them for Christmas.”
The support that the Concerned Citizens are providing eliminates some of the financial pressures that come with the holidays.
Jeanette Sassaman, a parent, says, “It feels good because, you know, a lot of people right now. Times are hard and they don’t have enough, you know? So it helps people. It’s important because it helps them, like, come together and, I know, extend, like, a sense of security.”
Not only does this help the parents, it also brings Christmas joy to kids in the Logan County community.
Isaiah Hampton Parent explains, “Oh my goodness, they’re going to be so happy. I’m telling you. Great. I got four. Two girls. Two boys. Love them to death. Sometimes they just be bad. But I still love them.”
The love given by one group can make a massive difference for several families.
