Community members gather to show appreciation of agriculture in Barren County
BARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Agriculture remains a top priority for many communities across south-central Kentucky. In Barren County, dozens of community members gathered together Friday at The People Bank to celebrate and honor the hard work of local farmers.
The event highlighted the contributions of those who produce essential resources like crops and dairy products used by families across the state.
Among the attendees was Kentucky FFA State Vice President Matthew Estes, who shared how his passion for agriculture began on his grandfather’s farm. Estes emphasized the value of helping others find their place in agriculture and develop their own love for the industry.
Events like this help raise awareness of the dedication and effort behind food production.
Terry Bunnell, president and CEO of The Peoples Bank, spoke about honoring dairy farmers and preserving agricultural heritage in the region. He stressed how agriculture shapes the identity and future of communities like Barren County.
The celebration wasn’t just about one group—it welcomed everyone who plays a role in local agriculture. From farmers to students, each attendee had the opportunity to connect and collaborate.
The gathering also introduced a new FFA officer team, stepping into leadership roles and organizing a never-before-held event.
Their teamwork and enthusiasm reflected the strength and unity within Kentucky’s agricultural community.
