Community Driven: Celebrating a Record-Breaking Shake Your Paws Ball!
We recently sat down with Molly Taylor to chat about this year’s Shake Your Paws Ball, and it was an absolutely incredible event! The annual fundraiser consistently goes above and beyond, and this year was no exception, raising crucial funds for animal welfare.
A Night of Fun and Fundraising
This year’s Shake Your Paws Ball was a huge success!
- Entertainment: Bazooka Joe 2.0 kept everyone dancing throughout the night, providing fantastic live music.
- Silent Auction: The event featured a massive silent auction with an astounding $14,000 worth of items, offering a wide array of unique finds – including a very cool Porch Goose that Molly had her eye on!
- Great Turnout: With wonderful food, strong ticket sales, and generous sponsors, the event saw a fantastic turnout from the community.
Surpassing Our Goal: $35,000 Raised!
This year, the ambitious goal was set at $35,000, aiming for the highest amount ever raised – and we’re thrilled to announce that it was achieved!
These funds are incredibly important for the daily operations of the shelter. The costs associated with caring for the many animals that come through the doors each day quickly add up, covering:
- Food
- Vaccinations
- Spaying/Neutering procedures
- Medications, and much more.
Events like the Shake Your Paws Ball are vital to keeping the shelter open and ensuring every animal receives the care they need.
How You Can Continue to Help
While the Shake Your Paws Ball is a major annual event, there are many ongoing ways the community can get involved and support animal welfare throughout the year:
- Volunteer: Time is a precious donation! Dog walkers are always needed, among other volunteer roles.
- Donate Supplies: If monetary donations aren’t possible, supplies like paper towels, Lysol wipes, and other daily essentials are always appreciated and incredibly helpful.
- Monetary Donations: Every contribution helps cover the significant costs of animal care.
