Community Action of Southern Kentucky MLK Day of Service food drive
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Community Action of Southern Kentucky is leaping into action, by partnering with Passport by Molina Healthcare to carry out the legacy and the dream of Doctor King. The volunteers wanted to find a way to add to the community by working to build a better community through service.
The program director, Americorps Seniors RSVP Program, Lindsey Chaffin shares why the Community Action decided to celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lindsey says, “Our overall goal here is to help carry out Dr. King’s visions. His legacy, his message that he was trying to spread at that time.”
The Community Action of Southern Kentucky is continuing the dream beyond this day. They are collecting this food to create a food pantry to serve the seniors in the community. For information visit https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=781432584023746&set=a.452619336905074.
