Commissioner of Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs shares veteran resources

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For many veterans, the transition from soldier to civilian life can be a difficult and overwhelming experience.

However, the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs is committed to easing this transition by providing a wealth of resources. From women’s networking and support groups to over 550 grant opportunities, these services are designed to help veterans reintegrate into civilian life.

Whitney Allen, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs, acknowledges the challenges of this transition, noting that it can be tough whether a veteran served four years or forty.

“It’s good that we have resources available so veterans can move from a life of committed service to one focused on community service,” says Allen.

In addition to state-level resources, there are local services like the VA Clinic and the Veterans Alliance Center, which offer vital support for veterans in the area. These services are invaluable in helping veterans navigate the challenges they face after their military service.
