Clark Co. Fire dept. flies in toys for tornado victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Clark County Firefighters Association hosts a toy drive each year, but after Saturday’s deadly storms, they wanted to do something for the children who are now dealing with so much loss.

Captain Robert Brock II flew a jam packed helicopter full of toys from Clark County to Alvaton Elementary.

All of these toys will go to kids in Jennings Creek affected by the tornado. Hopefully, a gift that offers a symbol of hope and cheer.

“We’d help regardless of what it was,” said Brock. “But this was just devastating. We had the resources to help, so we pitched in and did what we could.”

People in Alvaton can still help out Thursday. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., people can bring new toys, games and clothes for Jennings Creek kids. People can drop those off in the Alvaton Elementary car rider line.

People are recommended to bring soft pants for kids of all sizes, long skirts for girls, underwear of all sizes and adult clothing (all new). People are also asked to bring thank you cards for first responders.
