City recognizes National School Counseling Week with proclamation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green City Commissioners honored school counselors Monday afternoon.

Gina Crabtree is a school counselor at W.R. McNeill Elementary. Bowling Green city commissioners Dana Beasley-Brown, Melinda Hill, Sue Parrigin joined Gina to commemorate.

The proclamation deems the week of Feb. 1 through Feb. 5 as National School Counseling Week. This is to bring to light what school counselors do, and why their services are needed for the students to flourish.

Crabtree says the fact that Bowling Green is recognizing the impact of school counselors says a lot about the city.
