City of Glasgow launches park ranger office

GLASGOW, Ky. – The city of Glasgow recently created a new position – to better safeguard the public parks in the city.

Passing out of a recent Glasgow city council meeting, soon there will be a new park ranger, who will be an officer out of the Glasgow Police Department that will patrol the city’s parks in the evening and be responsible for locking up after parks shut down at night.

News 40 spoke to Eddie Furlong, Director of Glasgow Parks & Rec who said it’s been a long time coming but this is definitely the right time.
