City of Bowling Green set to propose budget for 2025 fiscal year
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green is getting ready to propose its fiscal year 2025 budget in the coming weeks.
The new budget plans to put aside over $2 million for new turf soccer fields at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex.
There will also be some new affordable housing, greenways and upgrades to the Public Safety Training Center.
City Manager Jeff Meisel says he hopes these new projects give Bowling Green residents a relief as to where their tax dollars go.
“I think the residents have come to expect a good return for their taxpayer dollars… and we try to do that… we always strive to put as much back into the community as we can… so I think the taxpayers should be pretty satisfied with what they’ll be seeing in this coming year as far as things we’ll see out in the community,” he says.
The Board of Commissioners will vote on this budget in June. If approved, it would take effect on July 1st.
