City leaders to vote on new Bowling Green police chief Tuesday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The city of Bowling Green will select its new chief of police on Tuesday.
The city commission has scheduled a special meeting to vote on the city manager’s recommendation for the next chief.
Since Chief Doug Hawkins announced his retirement, three internal candidates have thrown their names in the hat to become his successor: Deputy Chief Penny Bowles, Deputy Chief Michael Delaney and Assistant Chief Brian Harrell.
Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. at the Kummer Little Recreation Center.
