City continues hunt for new police officers, dispatchers

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- The Bowling Green Police Department is still looking for new officer recruits and dispatchers and set up a booth at a job fair Tuesday so the public could take a look at that career path.

At an event sponsored by the Bowling Green Daily News and Liberty Financial, the Bowling Green Police Department and other employers were present at the career and job expo held at the L&N Depot.

Bowling Green Human Resource Specialist Tiger Tooley said recruitment efforts like this are vital to the community’s well-being.

“Public safety positions are a very important aspect to our community, its health, well-being and livability. I think that if your thought is that you’re interested in on one those careers, you need to come out and speak to a police officer,” Tooley said.

The next recruitment event is called workout with a cop, and it will be held on Feb. 21 at the Bowling Green Athletic Club on Scottsville Road.
