Christmas on College Street kicks off an eventful weekend
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Friday afternoon. the city of Bowling Green welcomed the community inside City Hall for the annual Christmas on College Street event.
Citizens of Bowling Green were treated to pulled pork sandwiches, tacos, tamales, and numerous holiday desserts as they mingled with city officials.
Attendees also had the opportunity to get their pictures taken at a photo booth and warm up at the hot chocolate station.
This was the first event of the day before the big Light Up BG event later in the evening.
Christmas on College Street gave everyone the perfect chance to relax and meet local officials in a calm environment.
Well, this is a great time for the community to come and meet their elected officials. All of our city officials are here today so they can meet the mayor, and they can meet the city commissioners.” Said Deborah West, Public Information Officer with the City of Bowling Green. “This is a great chance for them to meet them in a relaxed atmosphere where everybody’s having a good time and everyone’s happy, and people are getting ready to go watch the lights come on.”
Christmas on College Street was the first of many events over the course of the weekend with Light Up BG and the Jaycee’s Christmas Parade also taking place.
