Christian Community Care celebrates 140 years in Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Christian Community Care, who operates Village Manor in Bowling Green, is celebrating a huge milestone.

City commissioners Sue Parrigin and Melinda Hill were on hand to proclaim October 16th as Christian Care Communities Founder’s Day to celebrate 140 years in the commonwealth of Kentucky.

We spoke to CEO Mary Lynn Spalding, who told us the history of the company since its founding in 1884 in Louisville.

She also tells us how important Village Manor is to the success and longevity of those 140 years.

“Each Christian Care campus… I always say, if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen one because we really have allowed each campus to morph to the needs of the individual community… particularly here, it’s been very important to keep families together. Sometimes we’ll have spouses living in one level of care, and the other spouse living in another level of care, but they’re still in the same community… and I think that that’s what makes this campus so very special,” she says.

Dinner, music and a celebratory cake were also included as part of the celebration.

Congratulations to Christian Community Care on this incredible milestone!
