Charles English, founding partner of ELPO Law, celebrates 90th birthday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Charles English has been a key part of the Bowling Green community for years, and now that community is showing their love back by celebrating his 90th birthday.
“I’m overwhelmed by it… very appreciative, it makes one reflect back over a long period of time, and it can become very emotional,” Mr. English told us in response to the support he received on his big day.
He’s been practicing law at ELPO for over six decades, a long time to see a lot of things change. One of the most recent is a renovation to their office in downtown Bowling Green.
“It’s a long way and a lot different than 511 and a half East 10th Street where I started in 1960, but this facility… the practice of law has changed so much, and we in our practice, there are many things that are community oriented and have an impact on the community. What we try to do here and have done is to create a facility where people can come together. We hope this and believe this building will serve that purpose,” English says.
He has just one thing to say to those who celebrated with him: thank you.
“I have lived a wonderful life, the community and my associates have been very helpful to me over the years. I could not have achieved this and done it without their help and input. I just want to say thank you,” English says.
