Charles Booker stops by Back to School block party in BG
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-It was a day of laughs, bouncy houses and basketball for kids at the BG Freedom Walkers’ Back to School Block Party at Parker Bennett Community Center.
The third annual free event invited all kids and families to come out and grab backpacks, notebooks, markers and more to get ready for the upcoming school year.
Local officials and politicians made an appearance including city commissioner Carlos Bailey, State Representative Patti Minter and Charles Booker, who’s running for U.S. Senate against Senator Rand Paul.
“This is a good opportunity as always to connect with the community. A big part of my campaign is coming together as family, realizing we’re in it together and celebrating our hard work and ingenuity and this is a good example of what it looks like in Bowling Green,” said Booker.
