Chaney’s Dairy Barn applies for Kentucky Proud promotional grant
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Chaney’s Dairy Barn has been around going on 16 years.
One thing they’re most proud of is, well, Kentucky Proud.
And how their local products benefit their business and Bowling Green.
Furthermore, promotional programs are now available in 2019.
Which is why Chaney’s has special plans for their ice cream.
Chaney’s Dairy Darn is just one local business that will benefit from those programs.
Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles is calling on Kentucky Proud members and local organizations.
He wants them to take the opportunity to apply for funding in 2019.
They can choose from three Kentucky Proud promotional programs.
The Buy Local program, the Farm to Fork program, and the Kentucky Proud promotional grant.
Carl Chaney, the owner, tells us his daughter has applied for the Kentucky Proud promotional grant.
The promotional grant reimburses members for up to 50% of future eligible expenses.
Those expenses include marketing, advertising, and promotion of agricultural products.
Chaney says these programs allow the community to take advantage of high-quality products.
In the next two to three months, Chaney’s hopes to take their cow milk and turn it into ice cream.
Chaney says if this happens, their farm will be the first to do this in the entire south.
