Chaney’s Dairy Barn announces partnership with Kroger
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Chaney’s Dairy Barn and Kroger officially announced their partnership Tuesday afternoon. 41 Kentucky Kroger’s now sell Chaney’s Milk in their stores.
Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles attended the conference, saying he was proud to announce that Kroger’s are officially stocking the Kentucky Proud milk on their shelves.
4th generation owner of Chaney’s Dairy Barn, Carl Chaney, said this has increased their production by over 5000 lbs per week.
“It’s really great for our family,” said Chaney. “I’m fourth generation, our kids fifth generation, grandkids are sixth generation. Dad started milking cows back 81 years ago, and here we are now with an opportunity to continue to push this forward.”
Chaney says around the year 2000, there were over 2,100 dairy farms in the state, but now there are only 430. He hopes this partnership will not only help Chaney’s but propel other dairy farms in the state as well.
