Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce celebrates volunteers
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – There was a fiesta at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce today, and it was all to celebrate the Chamber’s many volunteers.
Once a year the Chamber recognizes its volunteers with a luncheon.
This year they had tacos, chips, salsa and lots to celebrate.
The Bowling Green Chamber has been recognized nationally for its work in helping to grow the economy in the Bowling Green area.
The Chambers president said this wouldn’t be possible without volunteers.
“We just got re-accredited as a 5-star Chamber of Commerce. Only about 1% of those in the country are accredited at that level so we’re very proud of that, could not have accomplished that without all of our volunteers helping out. Also, recently we were ranked first in the country for economic development results, after being ranked fifth previous years. It takes a whole team to be able to do that,” Chamber president Ron Bunch said.
The celebration was also a part of national volunteer appreciation week.
