Chamber announces 2019 Small Business Person of the Year and Athena award winners
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two Bowling Green business people are being recognized for their outstanding work in the community.
At press conference Tuesday, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce named the 2019 Small Business Person of the Year and Athena Award winner.
Andy Robinson, who is franchisee at Chick-Fil-A, beat out three other businessmen who were nominated for this year’s small business person of the year award.
Robinson is recognized for his involvement in the development and growth of the Bowling Green community and for recent business growth. He said it’s all about caring for people.
“I really think it’s just about serving people and caring for people. Whether it’s the guests, team or in the community it’s just a wonderful and unique opportunity for us to care for people. If we do that, everything else will fall into place,” said Robinson.
Lisa Dunn, who is Human Resource Business Partner at US Bank, is the 2019 Athena Award recipient. She’s recognized for her work as a positive role model and significant contributions to the community. Dunn is a Chamber Ambassador, United Way volunteer, member of the Leadership Bowling Green Alumni Association and the Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky.
Both award recipients will be honored at the Chamber’s Excellence Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. May 7 at the National Corvette Museum. The event will feature both recipients as keynote speakers. Online registration is required at www.bgchamber.com.
