Central City units respond to structure fire Monday morning

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. – Multiple units responded for a reported structure fire in Central City on Monday.

According to the Central City Fire Department, its shift received a call of a possible residential structure fire around 12:34 a.m. Monday on the 400 block of North Fourth Street.

A social media post by the department states it arrived and located a one-story home with light smoke showing.

Following an investigation, the department states it located a fire within the home’s walls from a wood burning stove.

Personnel extinguished the fire within two minutes of a rescue unit arriving, the department says.

The Central City Fire Department says it remained on scene for another 20 minutes to check for hot spots, to conduct ventilation and to complete overhaul before returning to service.

No injuries were reported, the department says.
