Center For Gifted Studies educating teachers with AP Summer Institute

BOWLING GREE, Ky. – On the campus of Western Kentucky University, the Center for Gifted Studies is preparing high school teachers to teach AP courses at their high schools across the country.

Teachers from 14 different states came to the Center for Gifted Studies to better familiarize themselves with AP topics and how they can teach and help their students back home.

Courses from art to calculus, biology and much more were available to the teachers to take. Inside the classes, they discussed the best ways to teach these difficult classes, the different topics they can cover within their field and exercises they can lead their students in to best help them understand the course.

The institute, which has been going on for over 40 years, has been a great benefit for high school teachers across the country. One teacher who travelled from California tells News 40 that it is important to understand the topics to both challenge and support your students.
