Center for Courageous Kids, Houchens kick off 8th annual mobile program
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) spent the morning kicking off the 8th Houchens Mobile Program.
Tuesday morning’s celebration began with breakfast along with Houchens managers from over 70 locations in attendance.
Including IGA, Shell, IGA Crossroads, Jr. Foods and Houchens Markets.
Since 2012, the Houchens Mobile Program has raised over $200,000 for the Center for Courageous Kids.
When the breakfast ended, Houchens Managers received kits that the community can donate $1 into at any of their stores.
CCK’s goal this year is $50,000 to allow even more kids opportunities they’d otherwise not have.
But the Houchens Mobile Program is more than raising money.
Sarah Keltner, Director of Communications, says it’s about bringing awareness to the life-changing impact it has on the kids.
“The benefit that I’ve seen was not only from a financial standpoint and helping us continue to enhance our programs and activities and send more campers to CCK. We’ve seen an awareness. You think about walking in an IGA store, a Houchens location store, and seeing so many kids up on the wall,” said Keltner.
Last year the Houchens Mobile Program surpassed its goal of $40,000 by raising $42,444.
