Center for Courageous Kids debuting new Adventure Lodge in June

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One local camp program that accepts seriously ill children that couldn’t be considered for other programs is currently working towards completing an inclusive facility but they need your help.

The debut of Center for Courageous Kid’s Adventure Lodge is part of their Tree House Camping Program.

Their fundraising goal is $40,000 by May 8 to cover the project.

The center anticipates the lodge will be complete by the first week in June for summer camp sessions.

Programs that will take place inside include music therapy, art therapy, a nature program and even sleepovers for the older campers.

The facility features a 30-foot by 30-foot room, a wrap-around deck and is eight to 20 feet high with great views all around.

Most importantly, a 40-foot deck was added to ensure all campers, including those with a handicap, can enjoy the lodge.

The center has currently raised $22,000.

One donor has agreed to match up to $10,000 in donations from now until May 1.

However, CCK needs the community’s help to reach their goal.
