Celebrating Diversity at SouthCentral Kentucky Community and Technical College

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-An international festival took place at a local community college.

For the 5th year, the annual Celebrations Around the World was held at SouthCentral Kentucky Community and Technical College in Bowling Green. The students in the school’s diversity club chose a country to focus on for their project, like Mexico, Germany and China.

During their presentations, the country’s food, customs, and celebrations were highlighted.

Students had the opportunity to have other students check out their research during the event.

Those involved in the diversity club see it as a great opportunity to showcase what this world has to offer.

“Variety is the spice of life. We want to celebrate our spectrum of diversity. We can enrich each other’s lives,” said chair of the diversity club Esther French.

Presentations also included different types of music from around the world.
