Cave City police seize 21 grams of suspected methamphetamine
CAVE CITY, Ky. – Cave City police seized 21.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop Saturday.
Police were called to the Watermill restaurant on a woman in a white SUV who was possibly intoxicated, according to a release from the department.
An officer notice signs of meth intoxication and a K-9 team arrived on the scene. K-9 Jax alerted to possible drugs inside the vehicle. Police found the suspected meth and plastic bags consistent with meth trafficking inside a purse belonging to Jamie P. Groce, according to the release.
The street value of the suspected meth seized is about $350.
Groce, 41, of Glasgow, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, careless driving, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Groce was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. Her bond is set at $10,000.
She was arraigned in Barren District Court Monday. A preliminary hearing in her case is scheduled for Aug. 18.
