Cave City getting agriculture center via partnership with Hart County in future

CAVE CITY, Ky. – Barren County Fiscal Court has approved a new project for Cave City that officials are calling a region wide project.

The city will be getting a new agriculture center connected to the Cave Area Conference Center that will be in partnership with Hart County.

Barren County Judge Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd says that since Barren County is a top agriculture county in the state, bringing something that combines that history with a bit of tourism included is going to be a huge win for the area.

“This opportunity could be great for that area, and it will be great for that area. It’s just like I said, we already have a huge tourism component there with the cave and other things that have developed in Cave City… I mean, Cave City’s really moving. There’s some huge investments being made there and just some great opportunities and this Ag Expo Center will just kind of grow even more,” she says.

The center is still in the early stages of development, but Jamie says this is going to be a great opportunity to host region wide events without having to travel to Lexington or Louisville.
