Catholic church in Bowling Green warns of scam

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A church in Bowling Green is warning its congregants of a scam, where someone is using the church leader’s name asking for money.

According to a notification sent to members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the scammer is sending out emails pretending to be Rev. Ryan and is asking for money.

Church officials believe the scammer may have taken email addresses from the front of a bulletin that the house of worship sends out.

St. Joseph Catholic Church advises anyone who receives the email to ignore it.
