ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – As of Jan. 1, CASA of the Heartland is now offering services in Hart County.

According to a release by CASA, the organization previously served Hardin, LaRue, Grayson, Meade and Breckinridge counties, including the Fort Knox community.

The organization states it will now extend its advocacy to children and families in the Hart County Family Court system.

CASA of the Heartland’s expansion helps to ensure “uninterrupted advocacy for children and strengthens regional support for families navigating the child welfare system,” according to the organization.

“Every child deserves safety, stability, and someone in their corner,” said CASA of the Heartland executive director Michelle Kail. “Our expansion into Hart County, paired with the impact we’ve seen this year, reinforces our commitment to ensuring more children have access to trained, compassionate advocates. We look forward to building strong partnerships in Hart County and continuing our mission of protecting and empowering children who need us most.”

Hart County is not new to CASA services, however, according to the release. The release says the area was previously served under the CASA of South Central Kentucky, which is now expanding further south in the state.

In 2025, CASA of the Heartland says it served 312 children, trained 38 new volunteers and strengthened partnerships with courts, social workers and community stakeholders.

With the addition of Hart County, CASA of the Heartland now serves six counties across the region.
