Capitol to host documentary screening and Q&A with Lazarus Lake

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. —The Warren County Public Library is hosting a screening for a new documentary at the Capitol on Monday, July 28, followed by a Q&A.

The documentary, “The Finisher,” chronicles British ultrarunner Jasmin Paris’s historic 2024 finish at the Barkley Marathons, the first ever by a woman. Organizers of the event say the Barkley Marathons is regarded as one of the toughest endurance events in the world.

Guests will later have a chance to speak to Barkley Marathons founder Gary Cantrell, better known to the endurance world as Lazarus Lake. The conversation will be moderated by local running enthusiast and former legislator Jim DeCesare.

The event will last from 5 to 7 p.m.
