Campus ministries work to make a difference

BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Each day thousands of people are given the opportunity to make a donation that will save lives.  Today on the campus of Western Kentucky University a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Preston Center brought in many people willing to give the gift of life.

Red Cross conducts several campus blood drives with each being sponsored by a different campus organization. Today’s blood drive was held by the campus ministries.

The blood drive gave WKU students a chance to join in on the effort.

Assistant director of student activities Mindy Johnson said she’s thrilled every time the Red Cross comes to campus.

“It’s awesome. It’s such a simple act for those that can give blood. It’s a very selfless act, and I’m just glad that people can come out and know that giving blood is such an important thing that they can easily do,” Johnson said
