Camaro Fest rolls into Bowling Green this weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of Camaros are rumbling into Bowling Green for Camaro Fest Fourteen this weekend.

The event draws about 1,500 car enthusiasts from all across North America.

The drag racing, car shows, autocross and vendors are at Beech Bend Raceway, and the excitement will continue through Saturday. Fans of any type of car will find something of interest, but the focus will definitely be on the over 500 Chevrolet Camaros that show up.

Joe Bella, coordinator/operator of Camaro Fest, says, “These cars are endlessly modifiable. You’re going to come here and see a couple hundred of them, and you will not find a single one that’s the same. And that’s what gives us that excitement. And they’re performers too, right? Like, we’re doing all this racing, and some of these guys are doing all of it. You can get a car set up for drag racing and autocross. It’s just exciting. It’s fun.”

Both experienced and first-time racers are welcome. The events start early tomorrow at 8 a.m.

It’s $70 to race and only $20 for spectators. The complete schedule can be found at Camarofest.org.
