Call scam reportedly circulating in Barren County

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community of a phone scam.

Authorities say the scam involves a caller falsely posing as a sheriff’s office employee.

Deputies say the caller will say a loved one or friend in jail is asking for money for bond or a reduced bond.

The sheriff’s office says it will not call regarding a missed court date, money owed, warrants or bond money.

If you receive this call, deputies say to hang up and not give out personal information.
