Caboni announces pay cuts for top university officials and coaches

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Several familiar names at Western Kentucky University announced they’re taking a pay cut in response to coronavirus pandemic.

University President Timothy Caboni said during a Board of Regents meeting Friday afternoon that he, Athletic Director Todd Stewart, Head Football Coach Tyson Helton and Head Basketball Coach Rick Stansbury are among many taking a 10% pay cut.

Most of the president’s cabinet is also taking a cut, according to University Media Relations Director Bob Skipper

The funds will go into the WKU Opportunity Fund, which supports students’ needs.

It’s unclear at this time what that may amount to as far as dollars and cents.
