C-USA Moving Forward with Fall Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Conference USA is moving forward with its plan to play football this fall after a Wednesday night meeting of the league’s board of directors.
After hearing from and speaking with a number of medical experts, league officials made the decision to stay the course. The Conference USA later released a statement that said in part, “… Myocarditis, mental health and enhanced testing protocols remain the focus.”
Even though Conference USA member Old Dominion has cancelled their football season, league officials remain confident and have already looked at the possibility of teams playing each other twice to fill the void left by the Monarchs.
The Conference USA joins the SEC, ACC, Big 12, AAC, and Sun Belt as the six FBS conferences still planning to play football this fall.
