C-USA Commissioner speaks on state of college athletics
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In attendance for last night’s matchup between the WKU football team and Kennesaw State was the commissioner of Conference USA, Judy MacLeod, and at the half she spoke to the media on a variety of topics relating to the state of the conference and conference realignment.
Back in 2015, MacLeod took the reins of C-USA and became the first female FBS conference commissioner in history, and after nearly 10 years of working with various programs, she shared her take on the future of college athletics in an ever-changing scene.
“I don’t think anyone has a crystal ball of what’s going to happen, but we’re trying to be as proactive and prepared as we can as we work with our membership,” MacLeod said. “We want to make sure that our programs still have a chance to be nationally relevant. I still think the value of college athletics and what it can do for young people to get their education and really develop as people is super important, and we can’t lose that.”
