Butler County’s Ty Price announces commitment to UT Martin
BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – Friday afternoon at Butler County High School, Bears senior Ty Price announced his commitment to play basketball at the University of Tennessee at Martin after his final year in Morgantown.
The four-star guard helped get Butler County their first ever state tournament appearance last season, leading the team in scoring by racking up nearly a thousand points in 32 games played.
He will shoot to aid the team in claiming back-to-back region titles, and with his future plans solidified, Price can now focus on his senior season with the Bears.
Following the big announcement that he will continue his athletic and academic career as a Skyhawk in just a matter of months, Price spoke on what helped him make this decision.
“I felt like UT Martin was my home away from home,” Price said, “obviously they got an exciting play style that fits my game really well, the staff believes in me, and it’s just a plus for it to be closer to home as well. So, you know, I’m excited. I can’t wait to get down there. Obviously, I’m going to focus on this senior season, try to get us a state championship, but, I’ll be ready to make a contribution as a freshman when I get there.”
