Butler County woman wins $1 million from scratch-off ticket

MORGANTOWN, Ky.- A Butler County woman just became the second $1 million lottery winner from south central Kentucky in the last week.

According to a news release from the Kentucky Lottery, Sheila Grubb purchased the winning scratch-off ticket last Wednesday from the Marathon Food Mart on Sportsman Club Road in Russellville.

Grubb chose to take the game’s lump sum amount of $780,000. After taxes, she walked out of lottery headquarters with a check for $553,800.

The Marathon will receive a bonus check for $7,800.

A week ago, the Kentucky Lottery announced that Park City resident Robert Calfee had won $1 million playing Mega Millions.
