Butler County man shot at by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Conservation officer now behind bars
MORGANTOWN, Ky.- The man who was injured in an officer-involved shooting last week is now behind bars after spending time in the hospital.
Joseph Patrick Eden, 56, is now lodged in the Butler County Jail.
Eden is charged with multiple crimes, including third-degree assault on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and fleeing or evading police.
Eden suffered a wound to his neck and was treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Eden was injured last Thursday night when Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officer, Jonathan Barks, was attempting to serve a warrant.
Authorities say Eden fled and later jumped into a dump truck.
Barks reported Eden was driving the dump truck toward him when he fired his weapon.
This marked the second time since Dec. 20 that Barks opened fired on someone in Butler County.
Barks has been placed on routine administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting.
